From Recovery to Reinvention:Why I Started Autentica London

Autentica London is a boutique luxury events studio specialising in bespoke private celebrations, weddings, and corporate brand experiences across the UK and Europe. This is the story of why it exists — and who built it.

THE MOMENT THAT STARTED EVERYTHING

It was a private event at Bar Luce — the Wes Anderson-designed café inside Fondazione Prada in Milan, where I had been part of the opening team.

The room held some of the most influential names in fashion, art, and music. My job was to look after them — to make sure everything felt effortless, invisible, and exactly right. And standing there, in that room, something crystallised.

This — the craft of creating a moment so considered that the people inside it forget everything else — was what I wanted to build my life around. Not just as an employee in someone else's vision. As the person with the vision.

That evening at Bar Luce was the quiet beginning of Autentica London.

A DECADE LEARNING WHAT LUXURY REALLY MEANS

It began in Milan, at Bar Luce at Fondazione Prada — a space I was part of opening — where the standard for what luxury could feel like was set in me permanently.

London came next. Working at a rooftop bar above the Thames, I learned something new — that luxury isn't only about the grand gesture. It lives in the smaller moments too. How a table is set tells a guest whether they are seen. How a room is lit determines whether a conversation deepens or stays shallow. How an experience is paced — its rhythm, its pauses — is what people carry in their bodies long after they've forgotten the menu.

It was there that a small moment changed everything. A guest staying in the hotel needed help creating a proposal — something personal, considered, and completely right for the person it was for. I helped them shape it.

And something clicked.

The craft of turning an idea into a moment that matters — was what I wanted to do. Not as an aside. As a vocation. I went on to pursue a diploma in event management, marketing and communications, and never looked back.

What followed were years on the operational side of the events world — the project management, the logistics, the supplier relationships, the invisible scaffolding that holds a beautiful experience upright. Working in destination management gave me something I hadn't expected: a deep respect for precision. For the unglamorous work that happens behind the scenes so that everything in front of the curtain feels effortless.

That dual fluency — creative vision and operational rigour — would become the thing I'd build Autentica on.

“Luxury has very little to do with price and almost everything to do with intention”

tHE PART I DON’T TALK ABOUT

Like a surprise, life stopped me in my tracks in the most literal way possible.

A serious illness. The kind that rearranges everything — your priorities, your identity, your relationship with time. The kind that makes you look very clearly at what you've been building, and ask whether it's actually yours.

I was still in the middle of it when Autentica began to take shape. Not despite that — because of it.

There is something that happens when the ordinary scaffolding of life is stripped away. The noise quietens. What matters becomes obvious. And the things you've been putting off — the ideas you've told yourself you'll pursue "one day" — suddenly feel urgent in a way they never did before.

Autentica London is that urgency made real.

I'm still on that journey. I don't share this for sympathy — I share it because it's the truest thing I can tell you about why this business exists, and what drives the standard I hold every event to. When you understand that life is genuinely finite, you stop being willing to create anything that doesn't matter.

Every celebration I design carries that weight. Not heavily — but with intention.

WHY AUTENTICA LONDON.

WHY NOW.

The luxury events market in London is full of beautiful imagery and impeccable venues. What it's less full of is founders who bring genuine warmth, rigorous professional training, and a personal philosophy about what celebration actually means.

Autentica London was built to be different — not louder, but deeper. Every celebration we create is bespoke: no templates, no packages, no events that look like last year's.

Our founder brings a rare combination of luxury hospitality experience — including roles at Bar Luce at Fondazione Prada in Milan and Rooftop Bars at Hilton Hotels in London — and corporate-grade project management in destination management. We work with very few clients each year to ensure every event receives the full weight of our attention.

The name Autentica is Italian for authentic — chosen deliberately, not decoratively. It is both a promise and a standard. Every event we touch should feel true: to the people it's for, to the moment it's celebrating, and to the team that makes it happen.

WHAT WE’RE BUILDING

We are in the early chapters of something I believe will grow into one of London's most respected boutique event studios. We are building carefully — with the right suppliers, the right clients, and the kind of reputation that accumulates slowly and lasts.

If you've found this post because you're planning something that matters to you — a wedding, a milestone, a brand moment that deserves more than a venue hire — I'd love to hear from you.

Not because we are the right fit for everyone. But because when we are the right fit, the result is something neither of us could have made alone.
